Today was the final critique for Design class! (wow saturday crit i’m) Our assignment was to visit a place off campus and “map” it in a sense, and create a series (3+ works). The only other requirement was that it had to be multimedia. The focus was more on topology rather than topography (aka more about relationships between things in the site, rather than the physical/geographical layout of the site!)
I ended up visiting Tealuxe, a tea shop down on Thayer, three times and bought a different flavor each time. Unfortunately I ended up not liking any of them but they did each inspire a work. I focused on the sensory experience (light, sound, taste, smell) and how the tea I bought affected how I experienced the site, and how it affected my memory of the site.
